Most fishing lodges in the UK are rented a few nights at a time. If you fish often, there’s another option: own one. At Epworth Fields, a small, gated park in North Lincolnshire, owners have their own fishing lake, just a short walk from their lodge, and some lodges overlook the water. Our lodges start from £49,995. The price includes siting, connection, decking and furnishings, and the annual site fee is £3,000 plus VAT, frozen for 5 years.
Fishing lodges in the UK: renting vs owning
| Renting a fishing lodge | Owning a lodge at Epworth Fields | |
|---|---|---|
| When you fish | When there’s availability | Whenever you like, on a 12-month season |
| Who’s on the bank | Other paying guests and day-ticket anglers | Fellow owners only |
| Your gear | Packed and unpacked every trip | Kept at your lodge |
| Cost | A charge every trip | Buy once, plus a fixed site fee (£3,000 + VAT, frozen for 5 years) |
Owning isn’t for everyone. It’s a lifestyle purchase, not an investment (see are holiday lodges a good investment?). But if you’re booking fishing breaks several times a year, it’s worth a look.
Fishing lodges in Lincolnshire with an owners-only lake
The lake at Epworth Fields is for owners. It’s not a day-ticket water, and there’s no tackle shop and no private pegs. In practice, that means:
- no day-ticket crowds, because the only people fishing are fellow owners
- fishing on your own timetable: an early session before breakfast, or an evening one after the drive up
- a quiet bank, because the park is owners-only and lodges can’t be let out, so there are no holidaymakers
It suits anglers who want relaxed fishing close to home comforts, rather than a match venue. Read more on our fishing at Epworth Fields page.
