If golf is how you like to spend your free time, a holiday lodge can make a handy base. You get your own place to come back to after a round, without booking a hotel each time. Epworth Fields is a small, privately run, owners-only lodge park on the Isle of Axholme, just outside Epworth in North Lincolnshire.

Why a lodge works for golfers
- Open all year. The park is open 12 months a year, so you can use your lodge in any season.
- Quiet. Epworth Fields is owners-only, with no letting, camping or touring.
- Ready to use. Siting, connection, decking and furnishings are included in the price.
- No council tax. Owners don’t pay council tax on a holiday lodge.
- A fixed site fee. £3,000 plus VAT a year, frozen for 5 years.
Planning a golf break from your lodge
One of the nicest things about having your own lodge is how easy it makes a golf weekend. There’s no packing up a hotel room each morning: your clubs can stay in the car, and you’ve got your own kitchen, your own bed and a deck to sit out on after the last putt.
Epworth Fields is just outside Epworth on the Isle of Axholme, with good links to the A1 and M18, so clubs around Scunthorpe, Brigg and Gainsborough are all within a drive. Scunthorpe town centre is about 14 miles away, around 25 minutes by car. That makes it simple to try a different course each day, or stick to a favourite and get to know it properly.
The park has a 12-month holiday season, so you can come in spring when the courses open up, through the long summer evenings, and on crisp autumn and winter days too. Back at the park, there are woodland walks, a picnic area and a fishing lake for owners only, which is handy if anyone in your group fancies a rest day.
Lodges start from £49,995 with siting, connection, decking and furnishings included, and the site fee is £3,000 + VAT a year, frozen for five years. Lodges are for owners’ own use only, so the park stays quiet.
When you’re not on the course
